Lords-and-Ladies

Arum –often called lords-and-ladies–is a tuberous, deciduous perennial which blooms in summer. The exotic-looking “flowers” resemble calla lilies (Zantedeschia). The inflorescence is actually many tiny flowers clustered on a central stalk called a spadix. The spadix is surrounded by a modified leaf called a spathe.
