How to Grow Rumohra – Leather Fern

Rumohra–commonly called leather fern–bears attractive thick-textured shiny fronds. The fronds are two or three times pinnate at the base and triangular.

Rumohra grows from 20 to 36 inches tall with erect-arching fronds, It is an evergreen fern and easy to cultivate. It is a good choice for a shady border or woodland border; it can be grown in partial to full shade. It is easy to grow indoors but requires a slightly humid situation.

Rumohra is used in the cut foliage trade. It is often used in centerpieces and corsages.

Rumohra is a genus of just one species. About 50 species of epiphytic or terrestrial evergreen ferns were once classified in this genus; they are now classified under the genus Arachniodes. Rumohra is native to cool woodlands in tropical regions of the Southern Hemisphere.
